Aspiring marine biologist Cade Brooks has finally landed his dream internship at a world-renowned research institute under his hero, Dr. Paul Haywood, leading marine conservation
researcher and host of a Bill Nye-style TV show. It’s everything he’s ever wanted: unfetteredaccess to top of the line research equipment, pretty much any aquatic creature he could think of, and hopefully an in to work directly under Haywood forever. But on Cade’s first day, one of the other interns, E, confesses that he’s an investigative journalist looking into accusations of missing workers and inhumane experiments, and he wants Cade’s help with his fanboy knowledge of Haywood.
After days of exchanging information and a stolen keycard, the institute announces that E has decided to give up his internship. Cade doesn’t think that sounds like E. Was the institute telling the truth, or do the rumors have some merit?
