The details.

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am a strategic creative from Houston, Texas. I graduated with my BA in advertising from the University of Oklahoma in May 2023, and my MA in strategic communication in May 2024. My focus is art direction and graphic design. Why does a creative need a master’s degree you ask? Well 1: I’m chronically addicted to academic validation and 2: I am a forever learner.

I would call myself a Gen Z expert (humbly ofc). Not only do I spend an absurd amount of time on TikTok every day, I also am focusing my master’s research on how to best crack into the market of Gen Z consumers, because there’s a lot out there but oftentimes marketers just get it wrong. I serve as the research assistant for Gaylord’s student-run agency Lindsey + Asp, where we are working to translate Gen Z language and attitudes to advertising practitioners. friends friends friends!

Outside of school, I would describe my interests as a scrapbook of all things creative. Growing up, I was in the performing arts, dance, choir, theatre, you name it. (obviously, my parents knew I belonged on the stage). As an adult, this has translated into a love for music, painting, crochet, and interior design. If there’s one thing I love, it’s using an empty room as my blank canvas. (insert shopping addiction joke here). No, but really. I spend way too much money at TJ Maxx.

Speaking of music, I would call myself an indie/bedroom pop connoisseur. Music is often my inspiration when I’m designing, so I’m always curating playlists and looking for new music. Here’s a taste of me in playlist form:

One last thing, family is important to me, and I am OBSESSED with my dog. Brody is the sassiest, stinkiest boy I have ever met, and I love him (he’s not allowed to die). If I could, I would spend everyday hanging out with my mom and my dog Brody, but since I can’t make money doing that… here I am :)
